Second Pitch!

After the disappointment of our first pitch, our group went back to the drawing board and started work on our second pitch. The first thing we did was to make a definite decision on our song choice. We came to the conclusion it would be ‘Marry You’ using the Bruno Mars lyrics but having Glee concept.
We began looking at our ancillary tasks and the requirements for a ‘digipak’. As a group we had a group discussion, to think about what tasks we are going to do and decided on CD and DVD cover, with inserts. The inserts will be made up on six double sided pages. Also a music magazine adverts. Each member in our group will be assigned an ancillary task, in total there will be nine tasks.
We will also carrying out research, which included genre posters, looking at the ‘Bruno Mars’ and ‘Glee’ video in detail to see how many singers there was, the type of vocals, appropriate locations, props and whether we require a band or not.
Below is our second pitch:

Bruno Mars Lyrics

It's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go,
No one will know,
Come on girl.
Who cares if we're trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow,
Shots of patron,
And it's on girl.

Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.

'Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

I'll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So whatcha wanna do?
Let's just run girl.
If we wake up and you wanna break up that's cool.
No, I won't blame you;
It was fun girl.

Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.

'Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Just say I do,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby.

Just say I do,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby.

'Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

First Pitch!

After deciding our song choice we had to present our ideas to our media teachers. Our pitches included several different location, casting and costumes ideas, all these things are key to making the music video a success.

However it wasn't a success and we first hoped. We now have to redo our pitches on the 20th of October. We failed due to a misunderstanding about the song choice. For our main production we chose ‘Marry you’ by Bruno Mars but with a mixture of the Glee. Meaning that we’re combing the two, only using one main singer which would be a male role.

Production Schedule!

Below you will find a link taking you to our production schedule. By producing a schedule will keep us on track making sure we met our targets by the set date. If for some unseen reason that we don't meet our deadlines, a group discussion will be held to fine out the exact reason why and how to make sure this doesn't happen if the future.

Glee or Bruno Mars?

We as a group have had several different conversations about the choice of our vocals for our music video. Glee or Bruno Mars? After looking at both options in huge detail, acknowledging that Bruno Mars will only need one vocalist and where as Glee will need 8 different singers, which could be quite hard to organise.

But after having a lot of discussions we came to the conclusion that Glee will be more rewarding than Bruno Mars.

Main locations of the video

Abbey Ruins
Abbey Ruins is going to be one of two main locations where our video will be filmed. We choose this setting because of the romantic feel; usually most fairytales romances are based in castles which lead us to conclusion that this would be the best location for our romance music video.
Erith Pier
We chose this location because of the isolation it has. Not many people adventure out onto the Pier, especially in the winter and for several shots we needed peace and quiet.

Target Audience!

There are two different types of target audience for this music video. For the Bruno Mars side of the Video it will attract the ages of 13 upwards, his music is noted for displaying a wide variety of styles and influences and contains elements of many different musical genres.

Glee on the other hands attracts a different type of audience, most likely between the ages of 13 to 19. It is High School Musical orientated but deals with more pressing issues such as, pregnancy and sexuality. That is why we believe combing the two will attract the widest possible audience.
