Editing

Below is a picture of our first day of editing.
We started out by uploading our clips we had filmed over the last couple of days. Then went through and decided which ones are of a good quality and appropriate to use. The ones we didn't find useful we put to one side to use in a behind the scenes video later on in the project. We started by creating an introduction by using different locations shots we filmed on the first day.

Ancillary Task

In this project along with a Music Video we have to create Ancillary Tasks. Below you will find a design idea for one of the ancillary tasks. The idea is a DVD cover, mainly focusing of Bruno Mars but also at the same time adding features from the Glee side as well.

In this DVD cover we will incorporate a marriage invitation which not only brings consistency but also we’re following the genre of marriage. Normal codes and conventions will also be followed when creating this DVD cover, such as, the logo, title, reviews and age rating.

In a couple of weeks with hope to have more designs of different Ancillary ideas. Such as, CD covers, poster and T-shirt design.

Production Schedule

We had a group meeting to discuss realistic targets for deadlines, this will make sure we’re organised and kept focused with what we should be doing. Below you will find the targets we have set in a table. There are targets such as research, filming and ancillary tasks, after each section is complete we will update the table and post it on our blog.

Post Production Ideas

After all the filming is completed we plan to add effects.
Some of the simple effects we plan to use are lighting either to fix some lighting issues or use it to change the feel of the shot.
After viewing the first day of filming footage we decided that our video will need some varying speeds some will be fast depending on the music speed and some will be slower to relate to the overall feel of the video.

Poster Research

One of my Ancillary Tasks is to create a magazine poster; below you will find research I have done into different types of Bruno Mars’s posters.
·         What’s included in them?
·         What Lures have been included?
·         Does it include a tag line?
·         A main image?
·         2-3 main colours?
·         What logos have been added?
Hopefully at the end you will have a rough idea of where I am heading with my Poster and have an idea of what it will look like.

This poster has many codes and convention such as:
·         A large attracting image
·         Big, clear, non-diegetic font
·         Record labels/adverting
·         3 main colours (Black, Orange and White) the main text is written in black to make it stand out.
·         Tag line
·         Plus lines
It also gave me a huge amount of ideas for the poster that I will be creating for one of the ancillary tasks. I now will include a main image, instead of just having text filling up the page.

Below you will find a selection of our groups finished storyboards, they all contains images of what the clip will look like, what type of shot it will be and the lyrics for that particular scene:

The below Story board shows an establishing shot, show the audience the location.
Storybaords 1-3:

 Storyboard 3-5:
Storyboards 7-9:

Storyboards 10-12:
These are just a sample of our Storyboards, hopefully this will give the audience a rough idea of where of group is heading with our Music Video.

Style Guide

Below you will find styles guide, in our group we believe having a guide is virtually important when creating a media product such as this. By having one it insures that there is consistency throughout the project, the guides include such things as writing styles, colour schemes and the layout.
These particular style guides concentrate on different types of fonts we could use:
After group discussion, we came to the conclusion that the fonts that particularly stand out to us in the Glee section are ‘Freestyle Script’. The serif italic font seems to flow and it’s simple and sophisticated, which will attract the audience we are aiming at than any other font.
In the Bruno Mars styles guide, we couldn’t decide between ‘Impossible’ and ‘Nueva STD Cond.’ They are both serif fonts and quite bold. However even though Nueva STD Cond is quite boring the serif touches it contains such as the curving on the end of the letters is very appealing, and I feel that it would be the best choice for our music video.
